In 1882, a group of people from Cleveland, Ohio came west and settled this town, naming after their home town. A post office was opened in 1882 and closed two years later. It was reopened in 1900 and is still in operation today. Today there are still about 120 residents in this town that once had a population of 340 in 1920.
