I remember in the early 1960's the only business was Emil Reels store and bar. The building was about 25' wide with 1/2 the store and the other half bar. My mother attended school there and there was a Luthern church until the late 60's The only buildings I remember was the Church,the school and Reels store. I can still remember the good smell in Reels store, with the oiled floor and different produce there.I looked forward to getting a snack ora bottle of pop!
The RR section crew worked out of Funston until about 1965 then the train branch was discontinued.
