COMMENTS: Honea. Only 5 miles Northeast from Portales. Honea gets one call on my reference book and that is just say that it is an abandoned settlement.Thats all. Not a date. Nothing about the schools, first settlers or anything. REMAINS: Nothing. Not even on paper hardly.

Honea. Had to have started around 1905/1908. It looks like they might have run out of names also.Sorta sad that there is not any written account of what happened there. Maybe some day we will find something. When we do, we will share it. Submitted by: Samuel W McWhorter
