BONITA

NAME: Bonita
COUNTY: Nye
ROADS: 2WD
GRID: 1
CLIMATE: Hot summer, cool winter.
BEST TIME TO VISIT: Anytime but winter.
COMMENTS: Was much at one time.
REMAINS: Nothing.

Bonita was a stop on the stage line from Ione to Austin during the early 1900s. Miners made the first discoveries in the area during the early part of 1906 that was followed by a flurry of activity that did not last long. The population stood at 150 but nearly all were gone by the time winter set in. Nothing is left of the site and there is some doubt as to its exact location..
