CLIMATE: Hot summer, cool winter.

More recent than most, the town was formed in January 1932. Named after Tom Clark who discovered gold at the site, a townsite was platted and homes were moved from Beatty and Tonopah. Operations began and the first ore shipment was made and a large boardinghouse completed. Things began to slow down in 1935 and by 1937 Clarkdale faded into history. It is now part of the Nellis Air Force Bombing and Gunnery Range.
