CLIMATE: Hot summer, cool winter.
BEST TIME TO VISIT: Anytime.

REMAINS: A few old shacks and mines.

Although the original discovery was in 1869, there was little production until 1900 when a mining district was organized. In 1904 the tungsten Mining and Milling Company purchased all claims. In 1909 it was bought out by what was the U.S. Tungsten Corporation. A small camp of 50 sprang up during 1910 but plunging ore prices forced closure of the mill in 1911. It was restarted in 1915 and operated until the end of 1916 and the camp was completely abandoned by the fall of 1917. Only a few old shacks, mill foundations, and tailing piles mark the site..
