TERRAL

NAME: Terral
COUNTY: U.S.
ROADS: 2WD
GRID: 1
CLIMATE: Hot and dry summers, Cold winters
BEST TIME TO VISIT: Spring or Summer
COMMENTS: My grandmother taught school there in the 1960's while my grandfather drove to Duncan everyday to work for Halliburton (Oil Company). Their son (my father) was born there. My grandmother said that the farmers would stand at along a street that crossed the highway in town and sell their homegrown vegetables. I drove by last summer on my way to Dallas and I saw 3 farmers selling melons along the road like she said.
REMAINS: A convenience store and old buildings.
Terral was a booming town until the great depression hit and put the town to a halt. Since then the town has decreased slowly. The town in near the red river and is located in Jefferson county. Submitted by: Jacob White
