Although the post office was discontinued in 1928, the town was alive until after World War II when people began to move away. Rabenton was a small farming and ranching town with stores, a livery stable, a saloon and a school. The schoolhouse was built in 1933 and is still standing along with a few buildings and the ruins of the post office. Courtesy Henry Chenoweth.
